MUSCLE PAIN
Every one of us at one time or another has experienced sore or aching muscles. Muscle pain can be very localised but often groups of muscles will work against each other to cause pain over a much larger area. It’s not uncommon for this imbalance to spread to other areas of the body causing pain to indicate far from the point of injury.
JOINT PAIN
Joint pain is uncomfortable and always debilitating, frequently a symptom of inflammation. Muscle imbalance or joint over-stressing can cause this imbalance. However joint pain can also be the symptom of inflammation cause by Arthritis. Joint pain can be mild, causing soreness only after certain activities, or it can be severe, making even limited movement, particularly bearing weight, extremely painful.
STRESS AND TENSION
Physical responses to stress can include a tightening of muscles, especially around your neck and back. However stress related tension can exhibit anywhere and this can frequently cause a cascade of seemingly non-related symptoms. The muscles, tendons and ligaments in your body are constantly fighting gravity, one imbalance can quickly lead to another as the body tries to equalise.
PSYCHOLOGICAL
The autonomic nervous system controls involuntary bodily functions like blood pressure, temperature control, digestion, bladder performance and even sexual function. Misalignment in groups of muscles surrounding major nerve junctions can cause an interruption in the messages sent to your organs from your brain. It’s also possible for your body to, in effect, get stuck in an autonomic routine where, through stress, the sympathetic nervous system cannot break it’s loop of poor function.
