WHAT IS SPORTS MASSAGE?
HOW DOES SPORTS MASSAGE WORK?

Sports Massage is an effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculoskeletal system.  Received regularly this may help athletes or the general public prevent injuries, which might otherwise be caused by overuse by either through training or your job.  A constant build-up of tension in the muscles from regular activity may lead to stresses on joints, ligaments, tendons, as well as the muscles themselves.

Muscle imbalance may develop and often go undiagnosed until they are serious enough to cause discomfort or impede performance. The massage therapist will be able to detect variations in the soft tissues and by using the correct techniques, will help the individual maintain a much healthier physical state.

The treatment itself lasts for approximately forty five minutes and the whole consultation, including treatment, up to one hour.

Sports massage is not only for Athletes but can be beneficial to all.   As with all hands-on holistic therapies, Sports Massage may not be suitable for everyone and certain medical conditions may prevent the use of this treatment, or may require your GP’s consent.
